PFM Capital Inc. established Prairie Ventures Fund Limited Partnership (PVLP) in 2002. PVLP is an institutional private equity fund focused primarily on investment opportunities in Western Canada.

The Fund was established to raise and deploy private equity within Saskatchewan to small- and mid-sized businesses, both through direct investment and syndication with other private equity firms based in Saskatchewan and Western Canada. Prairie Ventures Fund closed to new subscriptions in 2007.

Virtually all of the partners of PVLP participated in the launch of Apex in 2007.
